Manny Pacquiao Is Off Boxing Junkie’s Pound-For-Pound Rankings
Filipino boxing veteran, Manny “the Pacman” Pacquiao, is not part of MMA Junkie’s pound-for-pound rankings after losing to Yordenis Ugas.
He lost via unanimous decision at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The 42-year-old was expected to steamroll through Ugas to set up a super fight against Errol Spence Jr. next, but the tables turned on him and retirement talks are again abuzz in boxing circles.
The Pacman is yet to decide whether he will hang his gloves or sign on the dotted lines for the Spence fight. His longtime coach Freddie Roach has hinted at retirement though.
After Ugas defeated Pacquiao, Roach felt that this might be it for his Filipino boxer.
As for Ugas, he has climbed to Honorable Mentions alongside Mairis Briedis, Jermall Charlo, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Oscar Valdez. The Cuban professional boxer has lost only once in his career. Shawn Porter defeated the 32-year-old via split decision in March 2019.
