Manny Pacquiao Launches Pro Pickleball League

Boxing’s only 8-division world champion is now getting into…pickleball. Yes, pickleball as the boxing legend has launched a new pickleball league in the Philippines, with the inaugural Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour (MPPT) kicking off on October 3rd and 4th in Angeles, Pampanga.

The five-leg competition, sanctioned by the Games and Amusement Board, features 12 founding teams from across the country, with each leg winner taking home P1 million ($16,417.13 USD).

Pacquiao said the following about launching the new league:

“Today is about welcoming the teams that will become part of MPPT history. These 12 founding teams represent different communities that share one vision – to help grow pickleball in the Philippines. This league is more than a tournament; it is an opportunity to develop athletes, inspire future generations, and build a lasting legacy for the sport”
