Manny Pacquiao Proves His Power With Unanimous Decision Win Vs. Adrien Broner – January 19, 2019 (This Day In Boxing History)

Manny Pacquiao returned to defend his WBA world welterweight title and put on a tremendous performance, even at 40 years old.

Pacquiao outboxed Adrien Broner to a unanimous decision win at a sold-out MGM Grand Garden Arena in the main event of a Showtime pay-per-view.

While Broner wasn’t knocked down, Pacquiao still hurt him badly several times throughout the 12-round bout.

In Round 5, Pacquiao threw a body shot with his left hand, but Broner responded with a right uppercut and left hook that snapped Pacquiao’s head. But Broner was unable to capitalize as Pacquiao continued to throw barrage of punches one after the other.

In Round 9, Pacquiao unloaded an overhand left, which left Broner stumbling. Broner’s back hit the ropes and Pacquiao caught him in the line of fire.

Pacquiao is regarded as one of the best boxers of all time. He retired in August of 2021.
