Manuwa KOs Anderson in London
One shot was all it took for Jimi Manuwa to score a knockout over Corey Anderson in the main event of UFC Fight Night in London, England on Mar. 18.
Manuwa started off strong in the opening round, pursuing Anderson, light on his feet, and cautious defending, while occasionally sneaking in a shot. Anderson scored a right hand and faked a couple of takedowns. Anderson was unsuccessful with another takedown attempt, but landed a nice shot when he knew it wasn’t working. But after all that, Manuwa landed a single left hook to the face to knock Anderson out cold and seal the win.

Following the win, Manuwa took time on the mic to call out David Haye, as well as the winner of the upcoming Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson light heavyweight title fight.
In the co-main event, Gunnar Nelson faced off with Alan Jouban. Nelson ran into Jouban, clinching with him up against the fence early on. After they separate, Jouban focuses on a heavy kick-based offense, but that’s stopped with a takedown by Nelson. After riding full mount for about 90 seconds, Nelson looked for an arm triangle submission, but Jouban survived. Jouban, however, couldn’t survive for long once the second round started. Nelson knocked Jouban down and quickly snapped on a guillotine choke, forcing Jouban to tap and earning a submission victory.
Brad Pickett competed in his final UFC bout at this event, facing off with Marlon Vera. Unfortunately for Pickett, Vera landed a hard kick and follow-up punches to force the ref to stop the bout, giving Vera the victory in Pickett’s farewell bout.
