Marina Rodriguez Vs. Amanda Lemos Is New UFC Vegas 64 Main Event
Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Lemos will get another chance to take center stage.
The strawweight contenders’ fight between Rodriguez (16-1-2) and Lemos (12-2-1) has been promoted to the main event place of the UFC’s November 5 show, the organization announced during Saturday’s UFC 280 broadcast.
Movsar Evloev and Bryce Mitchell’s featherweight fight, which was supposed to be the main event of UFC Vegas 64 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, has been postponed due to Evloev’s injury. That boosted the originally scheduled Rodriguez-Lemos bout.
In her last four outings, Rodriguez takes part in her third main event. Lemos will appear in her second main competition.
Rodriguez has won four straight matches since losing a split decision against Carla Esparza in July 2020. Rodriguez defeated Yan Xiaonan in her most recent contest in March by a split decision.
Lemos’ debut as a headliner didn’t go well for her since Jessica Andrade submitted her to a standing arm-triangle choke in April of last year.
However, in July, she returned by submitting Michelle Waterson-Gomez in the second round.
