Marina Rodriguez Vs. Yan Xiaonan Booked For UFC 272

Marina Rodriguez will fight Yan Xiaonan of China at UFC 272 in Las Vegas, according to MMA Junkie.

Rodriguez is rated No. 3 among 115-pound contenders in the current UFC rankings, while Xiaonan is ranked No. 4.
Rodriguez (15-1-2) has won three consecutive fights, including a TKO victory over Amanda Ribas at UFC 257 and two unanimous decisions over Michelle Waterson and Mackenzie Dern in five rounds.

The Brazilian’s first loss in her career was a split decision to Carla Esparza, a former champion and potential title challenger.

In May, Esparza (13-2, 1 NC) defeated Xiaonan (13-2, 1 NC) by TKO at UFC Vegas 27. She had won all six of her previous UFC fights by unanimous decision, including a victory over past title contenders Claudia Gadelha, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and former Invicta FC champion Angela Hill.

UFC 272’s main event is yet to be announced, but it will include a featherweight bout between Edson Barboza and Bryce Mitchell.
