Mark Breland On Deontay Wilder: ‘His Career Is Done’

Mark Breland thinks Deontay Wilder’s career has blown up in smoke.

Breland is Wilder’s former trainer. During the second WBC Heavyweight Title fight between Wilder and Tyson Fury, Breland threw in the towel in the seventh round. This marked “The Bronze Bomber’s” first career loss. Wilder was none too pleased with Breland after the fact and eventually cut ties with him.

While Breland has been relatively quiet about the split, he is now more vocal about the situation. Speaking to the folks at Stamina For Sale, Breland said he thinks Wilder’s fighting future is looking bleak (via Bad Left Hook).

“My whole thing with Deontay, that’s a part of boxing I guess. His career is done now so, I’m done, he’s done. I’m done with him.”

Wilder has also accused Breland of tainting his water during the second showdown with Fury. Breland said “The Bronze Bomber” is making outlandish accusations.

“I mean, so many people know me. My character speaks for itself…spiking the water, if you look at the tapes or whatever and stuff like that, you don’t ever see the water in my hands…and regardless of that, I’m there to help you, not to hurt you.

“See, some people can’t take a loss…Now when you lose, don’t blame everybody, go back and think about yourself.”

Wilder is in the process of taking legal action against Tyson Fury over his planned showdown with Anthony Joshua. Wilder insists that his rematch clause is still in effect. Fury’s team claims the clause has expired.
