Marlon Vera Vs Dominick Cruz Is Officially Scheduled For August 13

Former legendary champion, Dominick Cruz, is back in action once again. It is currently in the works for him to share the octagon with rising star Marlon “Chito” Vera. The two are expected to face-off during a bantamweight showdown that will headline an Ultimate Fighting Championship event on August 13.

Cruz was a champion who remained undefeated in the UFC until his fight with Cody Garbrandt. He defeated fighters like T.J Dillashaw, Urijah Faber, and Demetrious Johnson and suffered a UD loss against Cody in 2016.

He retired for four years but came back for the title against Henry Cejudo in 2020. He suffered a second-round TKO loss against “Triple C” just two seconds before the bell. After that loss, he fought two times and earned two victories against contenders Casey Kenney and Pedro Munhoz. Now, this is time for him to shine again against another contender.

Chito Vera is also on a great winning streak. He is 29 years old and has won 13 of his 19 fights in the UFC.

He earned his claim to fame after defeating and serving a first-ever loss to UFC star, Sean O’Malley. After that bout, he suffered only one loss against legendary Jose Aldo and earned three victories in a row against fighters like Davey Grant, Frankie Edgar, and Rob Font. He is now most likely just one fight away from his title shot.
