Martin, Viana, And Kim Lead UFC On ESPN+ 33 Medical Suspensions

The UFC on ESPN+ 33 medical suspensions are in.

On August 29, UFC on ESPN+ 33 took place inside the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. Headlining the card was a light-heavyweight scrap between Aleksandar Rakic and Anthony Smith. The bout was a three-rounder as it wasn’t initially set to be the main event. In the end, Rakic took home the unanimous decision win. Rakic has received no medical suspension, while Smith is out for 45 days with 30 days no contact.

In the co-main event, Neil Magny took on former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler. Magny defeated Lawler via unanimous decision. Lawler will be on the shelf for 45 days with no contest for 30 days due to nasal lacerations. As for Magny, he’ll be out for 45 days unless the cut on his right elbow is cleared by a doctor.

Two winners on the UFC on ESPN+ 33 card are facing lengthy suspensions. Mallory Martin is required to have an MRI done on her right knee. If positive, then she must be cleared by an orthopedic doctor. Otherwise, she’ll be out until February 26, 2021. Polyana Viana needs a right thumb MRI and an X-ray of her right foot. She’ll need to have an orthopedic doctor clear her if the injury is positive or sit on the sidelines until February 26, 2021.

Ji Yeon Kim is also facing a sit as long as Martin and Viana. She was defeated by Alexa Grasso via unanimous decision. Kim suffered a right orbital fracture that needs to be cleared by an oral and maxillofacial doctor or an ophthalmologist.
