Masvidal Comes Out Of Retirement, Jake Paul Leaks His ‘Opponent’

Jorge Masvidal’s social media post indicated he is no longer retired, eight months after walking away from the UFC.

Since his retirement, Masvidal has formed a promotional company called ‘Gamebred,’ his ‘bareknuckle MMA promotion.’ His bareknuckle MMA promotion recently held its sixth event, which featured a headline fight between Alan Belcher and Roy Nelson. Masvidal last fought at UFC 287, where he lost to Gilbert Burns via a unanimous decision. That was his fourth defeat in a row. At the age of 38, Masvidal called time on his career. A year later, he has had a change of heart.

Masvidal was targeting a return to combat sports in 2024 following his comments last October. He was linked with a boxing bout, even responding to a Jake Paul call-out. Mike Perry, from BKFC, was also open to facing Masvidal in a bareknuckle fight. Nothing materialized as Masvidal wanted a bout with the use of gloves, but he was planning something.

“No names right now, but I can tell you it’s early next year, and I can tell you somebody is going to get killed,” Masvidal said

It is unclear who Masvidal could face, but the timing has suggested he could appear on the UFC 300 card. The event will take place on April 13, 2024. The main and co-main events still need to be disclosed, leading many to think Masvidal will play a part on the card in some way.

As the speculation increased, Jake Paul reacted by leaking Masvidal’s potential opponent on X. The boxer then removed his response, but he did give an insight into his next opponent who may have been Masvidal.
