Masvidal to Dana: Give Me Title Shot Or Else
UFC President Dana White has quickly and repeatedly shot down the idea of Jorge Masvidal fighting Conor McGregor, but Masvidal and his team are at least keeping the demand of a title shot next.
Earlier this week, Malki Kawa, CEO of First Round Management (which represents Masvidal), and Masvidal’s manager, Abe Kawa, guaranteed the next fight for “Gamebred” would be either a title fight or a showdown with McGregor. Kawa has not given up on the McGregor fight, but it appears a title fight would be a little easier for Masvidal to get.
Just confirmed @GamebredFighter next fight will be either for the championship (if Usman accepts) or @TheNotoriousMMA (if he accepts). Those are the only 2 fights he is taking. Source: his Mgr @Abraham_kawa

Abe Kawa even went as far as to accuse White of “protecting” McGregor from Masvidal.
In fact, Masvidal personally tweeted at White on July 18, claiming he’ll send teammate Yoel Romero after the UFC president if he’s not given the title shot he feels he deserves.

After not competing throughout 2018, Masvidal has come back with big knockouts of Darren Till and Ben Askren this year — the latter setting the new record for fastest knockout in UFC history.
Some feel Masvidal, who is at No. 3 in the UFC’s most recent welterweight rankings, shouldn’t be ranked so high and getting a title shot for just two knockouts; however, some feel his momentum received from the finishes (especially the Askren KO) make him a prime contender for current UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
