Matt Brown Given Hometown Bout, Bobby Green Returns Vs. Nasrat Haqparast At UFC 271

Matt Brown’s initially scheduled bout with Bryan Barberena has a new date, and it will take place in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio on March 26, MMA Fighting reported.

In December, Brown had been scheduled to fight Barberena on a UFC Fight Night event, but Brown withdrew due to a positive COVID-19 test.

Barberena was able to find an opponent, UFC newcomer Darian Weeks, who he defeated via unanimous decision.

In June, Brown got back into the winning column with a stellar victory against Dhiego Lima via KO/TKO.

This was his first win since 2019. He came into the battle with a two-fight losing run, including a loss to fellow veteran Carlos Condit in early 2021.

Meanwhile, for UFC 271, Bobby Green will compete for the first time in the new year, taking on Nasrat Haqparast in a lightweight encounter.

In November, Green ended the year on a high note, punching Al Iaquinta out in the first round. This victory ended a two-fight losing streak.

Haqparast will be looking to get back on the winning track in this battle.

He went three rounds against Dan Hooker at UFC 266 and lost on scorecards. Before that, Haqparast had gone on a two-fight winning streak, defeating both UFC newcomers Alex Munoz and Rafa Garcia.
