Mayweather-McGregor May Happen Aug. 26

The boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor has been inching closer to becoming a reality the past month, and the latest development is a strong sign that an announcement may be coming soon.

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s schedule, Mayweather Promotions has booked the MGM Grand on August 26 for a boxing event to be televised on Showtime.

This news comes a day after McGregor posted an Instagram photo teasing a major announcement and photos were released of Mayweather sparring in his gym.

ESPN’s Dan Rafael confirmed that Mayweather’s team plans to request Aug. 26 from the Nevada Athletic Commission for the fight against McGregor.

Sources close to the Mayweather camp added that a deal has yet to be finalized between the two camps. Both Mayweather and McGregor have yet to complete applications for boxing licenses in the state of Nevada as well.
