Floyd Mayweather continues to utilize social media to tease a debut in MMA, and prod Conor McGregor in the process
As reported by Boxing Scene, Mayweather posted a photo to his Instagram account, which featured him beating a bloody McGregor inside an octagon. The photo featured a caption of “Certified Killa vs Certified B****”
Mayweather snapped a two-year retirement back in August of last year, when he fought McGregor, who was making his boxing debut.
Prior to the photo, Mayweather spent the last few weeks posting videos teasing the idea of an MMA rematch with McGregor.
Last week, UFC President Dana White said not only that he and the UFC wouldn’t entertain a rematch if it weren’t under MMA rules, but that Mayweather was interested in the idea prior to their 2017 fight.
“Obviously, the only way making that fight again makes any sense is if he comes over to the Octagon,” White said on UFC Tonight. “We went over and boxed him, the UFC and Conor McGregor. And now it’s time for him to reciprocate and come fight in the Octagon.”
“Floyd said leading up to the fight with Conor that he would do both. So we’ll see what happens.”
