Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather is heading to the site of this year’s Super Bowl, Minneapolis Minnesota, and is sitting down with Stephen Espinoza.
In a story first reported by Boxing Scene, the top Showtime Sports official claims the two will definitely discuss the subject of a potential Mixed Martial Arts fight.
“It will be a topic of conversation,” Stephen told TMZ Sports.
“There’s a chance … whatever he puts his mind to, he sort of wills into happening. [Floyd] willed the McGregor fight into happening. So, if he sets his mind to it, it’ll happen.”
And it seems that anything with seven zeros won’t be enough for “Money” Mayweather.
“He’s not an eight figure guy anymore. He’s a nine figure guy,” says Espinoza.
In the last few days Mayweather has posted at least two teaser videos, seemingly trolling his fanbase into the idea of Mayweather fighting inside the cage.
In both videos, a barefoot Mayweather is entering an MMA cage, similar to that of the UFC or Bellator.
Mayweather returned from a two-year retirement in August of last year, when fought UFC superstar Conor McGregor, who was making his boxing debut.
After stopping McGregor in the tenth round at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the 40 year old Mayweather returned to his self-imposed retirement from the sport.
