Mayweather: If I Return, it’s in Octagon

Floyd Mayweather came back for one more fight — to improve to 50-0 — when he defeated Conor McGregor in the Money Fight last August.

But Mayweather may not be done with fighting.

During the Erislandy Lara vs. Jarrett Hurd broadcast, Mayweather said that the only way he will come back to fighting is if he’s competing in the UFC Octagon. Rumors have circled for a while about the possibility of Mayweather competing in the MMA promotion.

The rumors died down briefly when White claimed meetings were about the UFC getting into the boxing business, but previously speculation has pointed to a rematch with McGregor — this time in the Octagon.

As Mayweather continued talking, it should be noted, he said “when I do go to the Octagon” and “I can do whatever I want to do. I’m Floyd Mayweather,” hinting something may be in the works.
