Mayweather-McGregor Rematch Rumors Grow

It seems that the rumor mill of a potential MMA fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is picking up steam in the United Kingdom.

On Wednesday, boxing writer Gareth A. Davies spoke with Jim White of talkSPORT, and has been told talks are underway for a sequel to the 2017 boxing match between Mayweather and McGergor.

Davies claims that talks are going on and that the potential financial incentive is historic.

“My soundings are that there are a lot of talks going on in the background, there are a lot of talks around people with Mayweather.”

“I think it’s going to happen and I think it will be a three, four, five hundred million dollar fight again.”

While Mayweather has categorically denied ever fighting for the UFC or in MMA, he’s posted videos of him walking into an MMA cage. Mayweather also spoke with Stephen Espinoza of Showtime Sports during the Super Bowl, and a potential foray into MMA was said to be part of the conversation.
