Mayweather Named Highest Paid Athlete Of Decade

As we head into another decade, Forbes counted down which athletes brought in the most from 2010-2019, and despite records being broken nearly every year in nearly every major North American sport in terms of deals, Floyd Mayweather walked out as the richest of them all.

Mayweather made a staggering $915 million from the start of the decade until it ends in six days, outpacing second-ranked Cristiano Ronaldo by over $100 million.

While Canelo Alvarez signed an unheard of $365 million deal in 2018 with DAZN, he does not make the top ten due to his being paid per fight and not given a Scrooge McDuck style coin pool.

The only other fighter to make the list was Manny Pacquiao, who clocked in at number eight making $435 million, less than half what his rival made.

A majority of Mayweather’s in-ring income came from two of his last three fights, where he made a reported $275 million to fight Conor McGregor and $120 million to defeat Pacquiao in their highly anticipated 2015 clash.
