Mayweather-Nasukawa Still Has No U.S. Broadcaster
In one week, Floyd Mayweather returns to action in an exhibition against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa. The three round exhibition acts as the main event of RIZIN 14, the MMA promotion’s annual New Year’s Eve event from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
RIZIN events have been made available to non-Japanese fans through the streaming app FITE, there has been no official announcement on how others will be able to watch the December 31st showdown between Mayweather and the undefeated kickboxer.
There has been a lack of buzz surrounding the event, especially since Mayweather initially pulled out of the fight less than a week after announcing it at a press conference in Tokyo.
Since that night, Mayweather and Rizin management reconvened to give Mayweather significant concessions, mainly that the fight will not be an official fight, it’ll be fought under boxing rules, and Mayweather will not participate in an official weigh-in, but that he will be weighed in his hotel room prior to fight night.
Mayweather has also downplayed the event claiming that it will be about “entertainment” and making little to no mention of the fight on his social media platforms, even deleting posts that announced the deal in November.
Below is the official card which sees two title fights and the return of BJJ and grappling specialist Gabi Garcia.
