Mayweather Says Shakur Is More Skilled Than Tank Davis

Floyd Mayweather has picked Shakur Stevenson as the most-skilled fighter at 135 ahead of Gervonta Davis.

Davis prepares to defend his WBA Lightweight Belt against Frank Martin on June 15. Tank has not boxed since stopping Ryan Garcia last year. After the fight, Davis and Mayweather embraced each other, showing they had a good relationship. Since then, things have soured. Davis claimed Mayweather was trapped in Dubai after owing money.

Mayweather responded by mocking Davis’ dancing videos while also sharing Shakur’s video calling him out. Davis clarified the feud, stating it could stem from his recent 6-7 PBC deal, which was more than Mayweather’s $200 million Showtime deal in 2013. Tank claimed there could be tension since he earns more than what Mayweather had done at his age. Mayweather had more to say as he felt Davis had more power but fewer skills than Shakur.

“The biggest puncher at 135 will probably be Gervonta Davis, but the most skillful fighter at 135 will be hands down Shakur Stevenson,” Mayweather said

Mayweather’s comments may engineer a fight between Davis and Stevenson. Stevenson has one fight left with Top Rank, as he fights Artem Harutyunyan on July 6. Mayweather has previously said he would be open to working with Shakur. If that can be done, then fans may see Davis vs. Stevenson.
