Mayweather’s Bodyguard Shot In Atlanta

One of the bodyguards for retired boxer Floyd Mayweather, was shot on Monday as an entourage of three cars were traveling to a hotel in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Police Department released a statement that claims Mayweather was traveling with the caravan of vehicles, but was not in the car that was shot at.

Investigators said they were looking to confirm that the shooter was targeting the vehicle.

“At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim’s vehicle,” Atlanta police spokesman Donald Hannah told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Victim, Gregory La Rosa,  was treated at an Atlanta hospital for a leg wound and released.

Police spokespeople stated the vehicles were traveling from a club to a hotel around 2 a.m. Monday when a vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire. The cars drove off and chased by the shooter’s vehicle. La Rosa was taken straight to a local hospital after the shooter’s car stopped following the other cars.

Mayweather was in Atlanta on Sunday after promoting a Mayweather Promotions tripleheader in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
