Conor McGregor has remained quiet in the days following his TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night, but the UFC champion took to Instagram on Thursday morning to address the fight.
In a long message, McGregor thanked his fans and team for their support leading up to his boxing debut. He also spoke at length about the fight itself, specifically the cardio issues that plagued him in the middle rounds and led to him being stopped in the 10th.
Though McGregor finished his message by hinting that he was already moving onto the next challenge, there has been no confirmation as to what that challenge will be. The frontrunner to be his next opponent is Nate Diaz, who he fought twice in 2016 in two of the biggest bouts in UFC history. Following his fight with Mayweather, McGregor confirmed that Diaz was one of the leading options, but added that the bout would have to take place at 155 lbs. where he currently holds a world title.
