McGregor Claims $80 Million For Cerrone Fight
Mystic Mac’s crystal ball is once again on display as the former UFC double champion predicts a sizeable payday for UFC 246.
”I’m confident it’s going to be a nice paycheck,” McGregor told Helwani of a potential $80 million payday. “They think I’m toast, but I’m still the bread.”
While the Nevada State Athletic Commission releases disclosed paydays one day before an event, it includes only the fighter’s purse, which can include contractual bonuses, pay-per-view bonuses, and other financial incentives outside of the base pay.
McGregor made an alleged over $100 million for his 2017 fight with Floyd Mayweather, and McGregor claims that he made $50 million to face Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.
McGregor cites numbers from Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia, which would add more to the overall buyrate of the event, which he is fighting on a one-fight deal with the UFC.
When asked by Helwani if he’d be making another deal with the UFC after this fight, McGregor said: “I believe that’s what will happen after this one.”
