McGregor Suffered A Toe Injury Which Caused His UFC 303 Withdrawal

Conor McGregor revealed that he suffered a broken toe, which prevented him from facing Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29.

Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka became the headline event instead, as the Brazilian defends his UFC Light Heavyweight Title. It is a rematch of their fight at the UFC 295 clash, which Pereira won. Rumors of McGregor withdrawing started when the first presser was canceled.

McGregor said there were ‘obstacles’ preventing it happening. McGregor then shared a picture from a doctor’s office, hinting at a possible injury. Ariel Helwani stated the UFC put out ‘feelers’ for a replacement, as the replacement fight was then confirmed. Now, McGregor has shared pictures of the broken toe, which caused him to withdraw.
