McGregor: Could Never “Fully Walk Away” From MMA

Hours after Dana White made it known that he and Conor McGregor were set for a sit down in Los Angeles, the fighter turned whiskey magnate, confirmed that he can never really walk away from mixed martial arts.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, McGregor replied to a fan who wondered with all of McGregor’s success with Proper Twelve whiskey, why he’d even consider a return to the Octagon.

“I hear you but I love it dearly,” McGregor wrote. “If I am being honest with myself I don’t think I will ever be able to fully walk away from fighting.”

“We are all fighters in this world and each of us will be fighting for the rest of our time here. So why not do it live on PPV baby. Pop a bottle!”

McGregor has been angling for not only a huge payday from the UFC, but equity in the company worth over $4 billion dollars since being purchased by WME-IMG.

The Irish fighter would announce his retirement in an early morning tweet earlier this year after negotiations with the UFC stalled over McGregor’s desire to own a piece of the organization, on-top of wanting main event status with or without a title shot.
