McGregor Has “Big” Problem With Dana

In the latest edition of “As The Octagon Turns.”

Jorge Masvidal wants to fight Conor McGregor, Dana White does not want to see McGregor fight above lightweight if the former double champion returns.

Now, Dana White let it slip that the currently retired Irish superstar is not happy that White considers the welterweight fighter “too big” for the former lightweight and featherweight titleholder.

“Masvidal’s too big for him. I think Masvidal’s too big, Conor disagrees. Conor was not happy that I said Masvidal was too big for him,” White revealed when speaking at the UFC 240 post-fight press conference.

“[Conor said] that pisses me off that you said he’s too big for me. I’m telling you guys, I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it again, this guy will fight anybody and I don’t care if he’s pissed off about it or not, I think that Masvidal is too big for Conor. If we ever get to that point, I’m sure it’s something Conor and I will fight about.”

Masvidal has only recently made the move to welterweight, after fighting at the 155-pound mark for the majority of his pro career.

While both fighters may want to throw down in an epic battle inside the Octagon and in any form of media, White believes McGregor will wait until after UFC 242 when Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov unify the lightweight title to make a determination.

“He wants to come back. Really what he’s doing is seeing how everything plays out in September,” White said about McGregor. “Right now, Khabib and Poirier are fighting. You know how this business works, anything can happen and usually does.

“So I think he’s just sort of waiting to see how it all plays out and does he have an opportunity somewhere to jump in and make something happen.”
