McGregor Injures Left Hand in Training

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor took to Instagram on May 24, posting a photo of him with what appears to be a cast on his left hand.

According to McGregor, an injury to the hand was the result of hard training and sparring sessions.

McGregor announced retirement from MMA with a late-night tweet back in March, the second time he’s done so in his career. However, it’s widely-believed McGregor will return to the Octagon soon enough, with McGregor even teasing so himself the next week during a Twitter war with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor was suspended for six months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission as a result of the post-fight brawl that took place at UFC 229 following his loss to Nurmagomedov. McGregor has expressed interest in a rematch with the current UFC lightweight champ or another boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.

Nurmagomedov, who is out until July with his own UFC 229 suspension, is rumored to make his UFC return at UFC 242 this September in Abu Dhabi, taking on interim champ Dustin Poirier in a title unification main event.
