McGregor: Malignaggi Got His Ass Whooped

Paulie Malignaggi was helping Conor McGregor prepare for his anticipated bout with Floyd Mayweather that happens on Aug. 26, but following the leaking of photos earlier this week, Malignaggi announced he was leaving the camp.

Originally, Malignaggi stated he was leaving McGregor’s camp because of “some of the stuff outside the ring and some ways some things were handled in training camp that I didn’t agree with.” However, Malignaggi soon went on Twitter rant.

In the rant, Malignaggi stated that in one particular photo, showing Malignaggi on the canvas with McGregor standing over during a 12-round exhibition, McGregor had actually shoved Malignaggi and not knocked him down. Malignaggi then called upon McGregor and his camp to release the full sparring video.

McGregor’s response? Probably not what Malignaggi wanted to hear.

“He stayed in there, gotta give respect to that, but that was it,” McGregor said. “He came, he got his ass whooped and that’s it, that’s all.”
