McGregor Posts Sparring Picture With Malignaggi
During the Mayweather-McGregor world tour, McGregor revealed that he planned to bring in former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi to spar, primarily so Malignaggi could answer for the disparaging comments he’s made about the Irishman’s chances in the ring.
Despite the contentious nature of their relationship, Malignaggi has indeed joined McGregor’s training camp ahead of the August 26 event.
McGregor took to social media on Friday, posting a picture of him sparring against Malignaggi. In the photo, McGregor has both hands behind his back, a callback to a move he pulled in the cage against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 last year.
Following the sparring session, Malignaggi spoke of it briefly on Twitter but said that he would not delve into specifics of how each fighter fared:
Good rounds last night with @TheNotoriousMMA. My code is sparring details stay in the gym. Look forward to helping him get ready for 8/26.
