McGregor Questions Canelo’s Box Office Appeal – ‘You Are No Draw’

Conor McGregor has questioned Canelo Alvarez’s relevancy following Showtime’s decision to pull out of boxing at the end of the year.

The comments were made after both fighters taunted each other on social media after McGregor compared his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. to that of Alvarez’s performance. The Notorious expressed how he had managed to land more punches than Alvarez had done during their respective bouts.

And yet, given that Mayweather may have arguably stepped off the gas against McGregor, Alvarez had a few choice words to say about it. The Mexican promised to beat McGregor with ‘one hand,’ while the Irishman referred to the Mexican as an ‘undercooked chicken.’

And now McGregor has questioned Canelo’s relevancy in light of Alvarez’s three-fight deal with PBC. Following the Mexican’s win over Jermell Charlo, Canelo’s last two fights remain uncertain until PBC finds a new network. In response, this is what McGregor had to say.

“@Canelo Canelo you are no draw to me, I don’t watch your matches. Showtime gone so bye canelo hahaha the Paul’s out sell you. Now grow some b***s and fight for real cos nobody cares about the same old thing they have seen over and over. Or sit on sofa and wait for the real men to finish,” McGregor said

Nevertheless, McGregor’s main focus appears to be a return to the octagon following his recent USADA enrolment. And as Michael Chandler appears to be the likely opponent, a return to winning ways in the UFC should take precedence. However, moving down the line, a super fight could materialize, provided there is enough demand for it.
