McGregor Says Makhachev Has A Staph Infection

Conor McGregor questioned Islam Makhachev’s hygiene in a bizarre social media attack.

Makhachev will face Dustin Poirier at UFC 302 on June 1. He will defend his UFC Lightweight Title for the third time. His two wins over Alexander Volkanovski make him a heavy favorite. Poirier has three losses in title fights. Defeats to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira prevented him from winning the lightweight title.

Dustin was also stopped by Justin Gaethje, who became the BMF Champion. Poirier faces a tough task as Islam has been training with Khabib. Nurmagomedov will also be in Islam’s corner for the fight. While Poirier knocked out Benoit St Denis in his previous fight, this is his biggest test. McGregor is not a fan of Makhachev, who has expressed his intention to face McGregor.

“[Dustin Poirier] finished Conor twice, brother, everybody can finish Conor 10 times. Why not? People have to be stupid to say no. Of course I will fight him. I’ll fight next in October or November, [or] I can fight August or September with McGregor,” Islamsaid

However, the Irishman had a lot to say about Makhachev’s hygiene. He referenced a possible staph infection on Makhachev’s left shin.

“Staph again. This in***d however lives with Staph. This team is infested, make no mistake. Scruff b***s. Whatever ya’s are into, I suppose. He still subs Dustin in the 1st,” McGregor stated
