McGregor vs. Chandler Is Still Up In The Air – ‘Pessimism All Over’

Ariel Helwani has once again claimed that The UFC is putting out feelers to replace the headline event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler at UFC 303.

There are worries that the June 29 clash will not occur following recent events. McGregor will fight for the first time since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, where he sustained a broken leg. Chandler also has his first bout after losing to Poirier at UFC 281 in 2022. The anticipation has been building, with a record UFC gate of over $20 million. Meanwhile, the tickets for the first presser for June 3 sold out in nine minutes.

The presser was then canceled on short notice. McGregor claimed there were obstacles that stopped it. The Notorious then posted a picture of himself at the doctors. Speculation emerged that McGregor could be injured. But since he was smiling in the photo, some fans took it as a sign of trolling.

Helwani responded by claiming the UFC put out feelers for a replacement. Although he was optimistic the fight would happen, his tune has changed a little since then. He has claimed further feelers were put out, with no conclusive news over whether the fight will happen.
