McGregor, Woodley Get Heated
Conor McGregor will move up to the lightweight division on Saturday, with the hopes of making history by being the first two-division UFC champion. He may not be done there: today McGregor engaged in a heated exchange with welterweight champ Tyron Woodley after the two came face to face at the morning weigh-ins.
At yesterday’s press conference, Woodley was asked to comment on McGregor’s claim that he is coming for more than just the lightweight belt. While Woodley believed the Irishman was speaking only with regards to Alvarez, McGregor clarified:
"All the belts."
To that, Woodley calmly replied that welterweights like him punch a lot harder than what McGregor can handle. That apparently did not sit well with McGregor.
After weighing in this morning, McGregor ran into Woodley at the rehydration table. While Woodley appeared to pay him little mind, McGregor sized the welterweight champion up:

Following the strange, but relatively small interaction, Woodley spoke on the confrontation on Twitter:
@arielhelwani Some of us are really about that that life! The quiet ones are the ones really from the slums. Don’t make me go back.

McGregor quickly responded with a familiar response, albeit one that he usually reserves for fighters he is already slated to compete against:

The two exchanged a few more Tweets back and forth, with Woodley warning McGregor to be careful with his words. McGregor did not take his advice:
McGregor and Woodley have more pressing concerns, as they each will compete for a world title tomorrow night at UFC 205. In the main event McGregor will try to capture Eddie Alvarez’s lightweight title while Woodley will defend his belt against Stephen Thompson.
