McMahon Wants Rousey in WWE
Ronda Rousey’s fighting career remains in limbo following her second brutal loss. After being stopped by Amanda Nunes in under a minute in December, Rousey hasn’t made any official statement on the status of her career. One organization still interested in her, however, is the WWE.
The world’s leading pro-wrestling organization featured Rousey back at Wrestlemania 31 in 2015.
Stephanie McMahon, an executive with the company as well as a performer, said this week that the company remains interested in having Rousey take on a role with the WWE.
“I would love to add Ronda Rousey," McMahon said on ESPN’s His and Hers podcast. "I know that she loves WWE and we certainly love her, so it would be a match, no pun intended, made in heaven. So hopefully one day we’ll have that opportunity.”
McMahon went on to say that they have not recently been in contact with Rousey, but given the surprise nature of many WWE guest appearances, that may or may not be true.
If Rousey does indeed decide to pursue her acting career and put an end to her mixed-martial-arts competing, another stop at the WWE is a very likely scenario.
