Meek-Usman Rescheduled For UFC St. Louis

On Monday, UFC officials confirmed that a welterweight contest between Kamaru Usman and Emil Meek  originally scheduled for UFC’s next pay per view, UFC 219 on December 30th in Las Vegas, Nevada, will now take place at UFC St. Louis.

VISA issues prevented Meek from joining the card at UFC 219, and the initial report, first posted by MMA Fighting said the fight was slated for UFC 220 on January 20th in Boston. Now it will add to a growing St. Louis card.

Usman is currently tied with Santiago Ponzinibbio for the longest winning streak in the welterweight division at six. He is coming off of a first-round knockout of Sergio Moraes.

Meek walked out the winner in his sole UFC appearance last December at UFC 206, when he defeated Jordan Mein by unanimous decision. Overall, “Valhalla” has won four consecutive pro bouts including a 45-second KO of Rousimar Palhares.

UFC Fight Night 124 takes place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 14.
