Mexico Sets New Record For Largest Boxing Class
The residents of Mexico City flocked to Zocalo square on June 17th, 2023, in an attempt to have a record-breaking event.
In 2022, the local government had organized a massive boxing class, as 14,299 participants attended to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst the youth in order to combat drugs and violence.
This time around it was hoped that a new record could be set, as the expected attendance was meant to be over 15,000.
The atmosphere was electric as people of all ages, shapes, and sizes came together to participate in the event.
The class was led by professional boxers, as Julio Cesar Chavez, demonstrated various techniques and provided guidance to the participants.
The event was a success, as a record was set with 30,000 people taking part.
The country has a rich history of boxing, with Canelo Alvarez arguably being the biggest star in boxing right now, as well as one of the country’s biggest stars of all time.
And if there are further champions in the making, then events like this will only help discover the country’s next superstar. And that can only be a good thing moving forward.
