Michael Morales (19-0) has accepted Ian Machado Garry’s (17-2) challenge to fight, with the two exchanging messages about a potential November 28 matchup in Saudi Arabia.
No contracts have been signed, and the UFC has not officially announced either the fight or an event in Saudi Arabia on that date.
“Looks like someone is avoiding me. Talk all that [rubbish] online then don’t agree to fight? What’s going on here?” Garry wrote.
The two welterweights have been building toward a potential matchup for months. Their rivalry included a backstage confrontation following UFC 330, where Garry confronted Morales over previous comments and told him to back up his words.
Garry then proposed a specific date and location.
“Saudi [Arabia]. November 28th. Let’s do it,” Garry wrote.
“Sign it, my son, and we’ll do it,” Morales responded.
The exchange shows both fighters are willing to make the matchup, but Morales made clear that he wants an official contract before considering the fight finalized.
The UFC has not yet announced Morales vs. Garry or confirmed a November 28 event in Saudi Arabia.
