Michel Pereira Lifts Lid On The DUI Incident
Despite Michel Pereira (29-6-0) being considered one of the rising UFC stars today, he has had his fair share of troubles with the law.
The 28-year-old was stopped by the Las Vegas police earlier in 2022 for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Pereira revealed this news to MMA Fighting.
The Brazilian, who defeated Santiago Ponzinibbio this past weekend at UFC Vegas 55, will be under the spotlight due to the ongoing investigations.
Pereira won his fifth consecutive fight after beating Andre Fialho earlier this year at UFC 270. After his fight with Fialho, Pereira was sitting on the passenger seat of the car driven by his intoxicated friend.
Pereira told his friend that he will be taking the driver’s seat when his friend nearly involved them in a car accident.
After a little while, police ordered Pereira to stop the car after it was confirmed that the crash had indeed taken place.
“I wasn’t even in my full senses during that drive. I was half asleep and didn’t see any damage related to the car. I told my friend that I had rested enough, so I must take control of the car. However, he refused and what happened afterward is there for everyone to see,” Pereira said.
