Miesha Tate Becomes Fighter Manager
Former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has not been seen competing since loss by unanimous decision to Raquel Pennington in 2016. Now, the former champion is retired from active competition and found a new road to contribute to the MMA community.
UFC bantamweight Gina Mazany spoke with MMAjunkie Radio on what it is like having Miesha Tate as an MMA manager.
One thing I love about training with Miesha is that her and I, we’ve trained together. We’ve sparred together. We’ve grappled together. We’ve wrestled together. So she knows what I have to offer, what I have to put on the table. I like it when she’s like, ‘You should fight so and so, I think that would be a really great fight for you.’
We’ve seen fighters both in MMA and Boxing make the transition from fighter to manager and/or promoter, it’ll be interesting to see the “cupcake’s” ability to develop a fighter.
