Miesha Tate On Her UFC Future

Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate has cast doubt over her UFC career moving forward.

Tate’s most recent outing was a unanimous decision loss to Yana Santos in May, a setback that followed her victory over Julia Avila at UFC Austin in 2023 after which she retired. Despite her recent struggles, Miesha Tate remains a big name. Her victory over Holly Holm in 2016 and her rivalry with Ronda Rousey helped propel women’s MMA. However, with three losses in her last four fights, it appears the best days of her competitive career may be behind her.

“I’m not officially done. I still have a fight on my contract. One fight. I wouldn’t fight more than one more time. I’m not looking to re-sign. I think just one more, if that, but I haven’t decided for sure. I might be leaning towards not [fighting again]. You’d have to ask [the UFC to do a boxing match], but I’m not. Boxing, for real? Like, I’m not gonna go do that,” Tate said
