Miesha Tate ‘Would Love’ To See Kayla Harrison In The UFC

Miesha Tate thinks she knows where Kayla Harrison’s next step should be.

Tate, a former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, suggested that coveted free agent Kayla Harrison “belongs in the UFC.”

“I’m not gonna beat around the bush there,” Tate told ESPN. “She certainly belongs in the UFC. I’d love to see her come over at 145 and see if she can stir up that division a little bit.”

Harrison (12-0) has been a free agent since her last title submission win in October at the 2021 PFL Championship. She also won in 2019.

Since then, the MMA star has been browsing her options.

Her latest development was watching Bellator 271 in Florida where fellow legendary female fighter Cris Cyborg knocked out Sinead Kavanagh in the first round.

Bellator CEO Scott Coker spoke with her at the event, and said he’s in talks with her manager. Bellator has expressed they’re “committed” to signing her.

Harrison, 31, is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist; winning one in 2012 and another in 2016.

Despite Tate’s suggestion, UFC President Dana White seems uninterested to sign the star, previously stating that Harrison “hasn’t fought anybody.”

It’s unclear what Harrison’s next move will be, but whatever it is, everyone will be watching.
