Mighty Mouse Signs For Title Shot
Just over a year after being traded to ONE Championship, Demetrious Johnson gets his first shot at their flyweight title.
Announced by the organization on Sunday, Johnson will face off with ONE’s flyweight champion Adriano Moraes on April 11th when the organization heads to China.
This marks Johnson’s fourth fight for the organization since being “traded” from the UFC for former ONE/Bellator champion Ben Askren in late 2018. In his first three fights for ONE, Johnson gained wins over Yuya Wakamatsu, Tatsumitsu Wada, and Danny Kingad on his road to winning the ONE flyweight grand prix in 2019, recovering from his close split decision loss to now-former flyweight champion Henry Cejudo in Johnson’s final UFC fight.
Moraes gained the ONE flyweight title back in January of 2019 when he defeated Geje Eustaquio via unanimous decision following his split decision loss at ONE Championship Pinnacle Of Power in June of 2018.
