Mikaela Mayer Vs. Helen Joseph Results

Top Rank will have a different main event than it expected heading into tonight, July 14, but the promotion is still ready to put on a show.

Inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Top Rank will feature another fight night. The new main event will be Mikaela Mayer against Helen Joseph. The original main event of  Jamel Herring v. Jonathan Oquendo was scrapped after the former tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.

Mayer (12-0) became one of the first active competitors to test positive for the virus. She had to back out of her fight on June 9 as a result of testing positive. The 29-year-old was supposed to fight Melissa Hernandez inside the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden in March before it was postponed by the coronavirus. The NABF Super-Featherweight Champion last fought in October, beating Alejandra Soledad Zamora via corner retirement.

Joseph (17-4-2) was on a ten-fight win streak to start her career. She won the IBF Inter-Continental Featherweight Title in 2013 and the WBO Intercontinental Bantamweight Title in 2017. “Iron Lady” fought Tyrieshia Douglas to a draw, and rebounded with two wins in a row. The last fight for Jospeh was against former world champion Delfine Persoon in November, losing via majority decision. She is hoping that the fighters she has competed against can prove she can easily beat Mayer.

FIGHT SPORTS will be providing coverage of Mayer v. Joseph!
