Mike Brown Thinks Jorge Masvidal Vs. Conor McGregor Could Be Biggest UFC Fight In History

American Top Team coach, Mike Brown, does not see a reason as to why a fight between Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor should not happen.

Masvidal (35-16 MMA, 12-9 UFC) has been campaigning to get a fight with McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC). for quite some time, although he doesn’t believe that McGregor wants to fight him.

Brown personally believes that the match up could end up being the highest selling fight in UFC history.

“That would be incredible,” Brown told MMA Junkie. “I couldn’t imagine a fight that would be bigger. With both of their personalities and their fighting styles, I think it would be the biggest numbers the sport’s ever seen.”

McGregor is still healing from his broken leg he received last July during his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier last at UFC 264. Although, he should be back in autumn at the earliest, according to Dana White.

Masvidal is coming off a lopsided decision loss to Colby Covington at UFC 272 in March.

Brown also shut down UFC president Dana White’s notion that Masvidal is too big for McGregor, noting the size he had put on during his time off.

“Conor’s obviously put on some size. It looks like, in his mind, he is looking to move up. I have no idea what his plans are, but maybe this is what he had his eyes set on,” Brown said.

“Obviously he has a plan, and he has his eyes set on something, and it looks like it’s something at welterweight, and it might be Jorge. Jorge I think is one of the absolute biggest draws in the sport and one of the most exciting guys in the sport, so it would make a lot of sense.”
