Mike Tyson Accused Of Raping Woman In Early 1990s, Has Not Responded To Allegation

He was convicted of rape in 1992.

A woman has accused Mike Tyson of raping her in the early 1990s.

The lawsuit was filed under the New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which gives sexual assault victims one year to file legal action on assaults that happened either years or decades ago. Tyson nor his representatives have responded to the allegation or lawsuit.

The woman, who requested anonymity to protect her privacy, claimed in the affidavit that she got in Tyson’s limousine and that the boxer immediately started touching her and trying to kiss her.

“I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me,” the woman said. “He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me.”

The affidavit doesn’t name an exact date, but the woman claims to still suffer from “physical, psychological and emotional injury.”

Along with the suit, she is suing for $5 million.

Tyson was previously convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant, Desiree Washington, on February 10, 1992. He was arrested in July 1991 for raping the 18-year-old in an Indianapolis hotel room.

The following year, he was in a two-week trial and was convicted of the charge and was sentenced to six years in prison and four years of probation. He served less than three years.

The former heavyweight champion was released in March 1995 and was required to register as a Tier II sex offender under federal law.

The conviction had little to no impact on his boxing career, as he went on to fight 16 more times until retiring in 2005.
