Mike Tyson reacted to John Fury’s decision to name his son, Tyson Fury, after him.
Tyson is arguably one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, given the fear factor he instilled in his opponents.
And the records backed it up, as Tyson became the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
It is quite clear, then, that living up to the ‘Tyson’ name has its pressure. But when it came to Fury, the ‘Gypsy King’ certainly did that.
He may not have as many accomplishments as Mike Tyson, but beating Wladimir Klitschko in his own backyard was a major feat.
Not only that, but Fury secured a draw and two wins against Deontay Wilder, the heaviest-handed heavyweight of all time.
So When Mike Tyson and John Fury came face to face, ‘Iron Mike’ became emotional.
Reaction
John Fury: “I have waited 35 years to meet this man. I said, ‘hear these words. [Tyson Fury’s] not only going to live.
“He’s going to be seven feet tall, 20 stone and the next heavyweight champion of the world, and his name is Tyson.”
In response, Tyson became overwhelmed with emotion: “Time! Time! Stop! Stop,” he said
Mike Tyson and Fury are arguably some of the most talked-about heavyweights. And on top of that, they have the titles to back it up.
