Mike Tyson Believes Anthony Joshua Can’t Be Counted Out Against Oleksandr Usyk

In a match where many neutrals are now pointing towards Oleksandr Usyk’s (19-0, 13 KOs) straightforward win against Anthony Joshua (24-2), Mike Tyson has other perspectives.

The boxing legend believes that the Brit cannot be taken lightly.

The 32-year-old is coming from one of his biggest disappointments at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He suffered a comprehensive defeat, surrendering his IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA (super) heavyweight titles.

In the eight rounds of that defeat, neither fighter gave an inch.

It felt like both the fighters were trying to make the fight longer rather than going for the big punch early. However, the Ukrainian took charge in the final four rounds to secure victory.

Talking to Joe Rogan, Tyson believes that Joshua has everything in his arsenal to get the better of Usyk.

“Usyk has an amateur boxing style which allows him to do the basics well. That style seems to distract Joshua because of its intensity and movement,” Tyson said.

“Joshua is completely different from Usyk. He has everything in his locker, and that includes not giving up till the end. This is why he is dangerous because even at his age, he is learning,” Tyson added.

The fight looks to be taking place on July 23 in Saudia Arabia.
