Mike Tyson Explains His Money Situation in Early Boxing Days
Mike Tyson aka The Baddest Man on the Planet has stunned his fans over social media after revealing how much he was paid for his first professional fight.
“For my first fight, I only made $500, and that’s only because someone took it out their pocket and gave it to me,” stated Tyson,” Iron Mike tweeted. “I never fought for the money. But when I did start fighting for the money, I got lost.”

Tyson became a world champion at 20, which makes him a record-holder to this day, for being the youngest heavyweight champion in the sport.
His career nosed dived after loss to James ‘Buster’ Douglas. He was later imprisoned and never returned with the same aura. Tyson struggled to retain the throne and then decided to call it quits.
Speaking on a recent episode of his Hotboxin’ Podcast, Iron Mike revealed how he handled his time in the ring. “It’s who I am. I’m pretty scared and being scared. I’m really just like, ‘I’m gonna do something bad to this guy that his family’s not gonna like,’” the 55-year-old explained.
“Then I’m a be guilty and feel bad at the end, that’s how I fight. I know the art of fight, I know the art of war, that’s all I ever studied. That’s why they feared me when I was in the ring. I was an annihilator.”
