Mike Tyson Eyes Further Boxing Post Jake Paul Bout

Mike Tyson could box again after his fight with Jake Paul.

Tyson has his first professional fight since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005 when he boxes Paul on July 20. The eight-round fight involves 14-ounce gloves, with the result going on each fighter’s record. The 58-year-old Tyson has made several changes to his lifestyle to get himself ready for this fight. He has banned weed and sex. He is also training three times a day, eating raw meat and using hypnosis.

Tyson’s last fight in any form was a 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. Paul is the more active fighter. The 28-year-old has stopped Andre August and Ryan Bourland in his previous two fights since December last year. While there are worries over the safety of both fighters due to the age difference, Tyson may continue fighting after July 20.

“Hey, this seems like it’s going to be pretty fun. Maybe we’ll do it again too. Well, can I take care of Jake first, please?” Tyson said

The fight will earn both men over a reported $20 million. Paul has more to lose since he is trying to establish himself as a future world champion. He is targeting a fight with Canelo Alvarez. But if he cannot beat Tyson, who is almost 60, that fight cannot happen. Tyson’s legacy as a former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion is already intact. Boxing fans will be hoping he gets out of the ring in one piece.
