Mike Tyson: My Skills Are Good Enough To Go Eight Rounds

Mike Tyson believes his skills will get him through eight rounds against Roy Jones Jr.

On November 28, Tyson and Jones will do battle inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. This will be an eight-round exhibition bout for the WBC Frontline Battle Title. The bout will consist of two-minute rounds.

Tyson has cited his ego getting stronger as the reason for his return. “Iron” Mike and Jones have said that despite the “exhibition” tag, they both plan to treat this as a legit pro bout rather than a sparring match.

Speaking to Jim Gray on Westwood One Sports radio, Tyson said that he feels his skills will get him through eight rounds against Jones (via BoxingScene.com).

“[My boxing skills are] good enough for this. Good enough to go eight rounds. I’m exerting myself, and this is going to be pretty interesting. I’m interested in waiting to see what happens as well … Man, that would be a novelty. Me using my skills, matching my skills now against the best heavyweights in the world, that would be mind-boggling.”
